GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN HEALTH MANAGEMENT

The Professional Practice in Health Management course aims to provide students with practical training regarding the functioning of healthcare organizations, including the operation of medical organizational structures and administrative, financial, and technical functions of healthcare institutions.

The Professional Practice in Health Management course is included in the eighth-semester curriculum with 3 hours of theoretical instruction and 24 hours of practical training per week. The theoretical component of the course is conducted in the Faculty building by the responsible faculty member(s), while the practical component is carried out in hospitals under the supervision of academic staff.

The hospital-based practice component of the course is conducted on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, covering 3 working days per week for a period of 14 weeks. Professional practice is planned as a full-day work schedule consisting of 8 hours per day. The exact dates of the practice period are determined in accordance with the Yozgat Bozok University Academic Calendar.

To enroll in the course, students must successfully complete the prerequisite courses specified in the Professional Practice in Health Management Course Implementation Principles.

Students who wish to take the Professional Practice in Health Management course must have successfully completed the SAY720 Occupational Health and Safety course or possess a certificate/document proving participation in Occupational Health and Safety training.

For procedures and documentation related to the professional practice course, the forms specified in the Yozgat Bozok University Applied Education Guidelines are used. These forms can be accessed through the Department of Health Management website.
