HISTORY

It was established in 2006 under the name of “Health Institutions Management Department” within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Yozgat Bozok University. Its name was changed to “Health Management Department” with the decision of the Council of Higher Education on 24.02.2015. The academic staff of the Health Management Department currently consists of 2 Associate Professors, 6 Assistant Professors, 1 Assistant Research Assistant and 1 Research Assistant.

INTRODUCTION

One of the common findings of institutions and individuals conducting research on the health and hospital system is the “management problems” experienced in this field. In this context, those who will work in various health institutions and organizations belonging to the public and private sectors in our country, who know our country's health system and health policies well; who know basic concepts such as organizational behavior, human resources management, accounting, business management, strategic management, health economics, financial management; who have knowledge of ethics, law, quality, statistics and research; There is a need for professional health managers who can assume a leadership role in every environment they work in. Students who graduate from the program receive the title of "Health Manager or Administrator". Graduates of this department can become researchers in their fields, as well as specialists, assistant specialists, auditors, managers, assistant managers, and various administrative management positions in various health institutions and organizations. Again, students who successfully complete and graduate from the Department of Health Management have the potential to be employed as middle and senior managers responsible for administrative, financial and technical affairs in a wide range of service areas, especially in hospitals and various health institutions and organizations affiliated with the public and private sectors, in addition to general health management. The Central and Provincial Organizations of the Ministry of Health, public and private health institutions, the Social Security Institution, private and voluntary organizations providing health services at different levels, similar university departments and departments that have health management courses in their programs, health-related units of press and broadcasting institutions, pharmaceutical and medical consumable companies, insurance companies, etc. are among the institutions where graduates can work. In addition, graduates who will receive training in health economics and health services financing and insurance will meet the needs of experts and managers in the Social Security Institution, Private Hospitals, the medical sector and the pharmaceutical sector, and private health insurance organizations.
