The 7+1 Education Model is planned to be implemented in the Department of Health Management to enable students to develop their professional knowledge and skills in real-world practice settings. Under this model, students will complete the first seven semesters of their education through theoretical and practical coursework at the university, followed by one semester of full-time professional training in healthcare institutions and organizations.

Beginning with the Fall Semester of the 2026–2027 academic year, students participating in the model will spend one semester working actively in healthcare institutions for five working days a week while continuing their professional practice education in the field. This approach is designed to provide students with first-hand experience of healthcare organizations, allow them to participate in managerial processes, and equip them with comprehensive sector experience before graduation.

During their professional placement, students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in areas such as hospital management, human resources management, healthcare financing, quality management, patient services, and health information systems.

Through the 7+1 Education Model, the Department aims to graduate students who possess not only strong academic knowledge but also well-developed practical competencies, the ability to adapt to professional working environments, and the qualifications required to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector as competent healthcare managers.

What is the 7+1 Education Model?

The 7+1 Education Model is a practice-oriented undergraduate education model in which students complete seven of the eight semesters of their degree through theoretical and practical courses at the university, while dedicating the final semester to full-time professional training in business or organizational settings. The primary objective of the model is to integrate academic learning with practical experience, facilitate students' transition into professional life, and enhance their employability after graduation.

Within this framework, students complete the majority of their education at the university before undertaking a full-time workplace placement during one semester of their final year. Lasting approximately 14 to 16 weeks, this professional training period requires students to work full-time for four or five working days per week. This enables them to gain hands-on professional experience, develop workplace discipline, and become familiar with the dynamics of a professional working environment.

The 7+1 Education Model is designed to equip students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with essential professional competencies, including problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and practical skills. Furthermore, the model helps students establish professional networks with industry representatives, make more informed career decisions, and acquire valuable work experience before graduation.
