Practical Courses in the Health Management Undergraduate Program

The educational activities carried out within the Health Management Undergraduate Program are based not only on the delivery of theoretical knowledge but also on a practice-oriented learning approach. An examination of the curriculum indicates that nine compulsory courses include practical components, while four elective courses are designed with a strong emphasis on practical application.

The total workload of the compulsory courses with practical components amounts to 64 ECTS credits, representing 26.7% of the 240 ECTS undergraduate program. When the elective practical courses are also taken into consideration, the total practical component reaches 84 ECTS credits, accounting for approximately 35% of the overall program.

One of the most significant practical components of the curriculum is SAY480 – Professional Practice in Health Management, which provides students with the opportunity to develop their professional knowledge and skills in real healthcare settings. The course consists of 3 hours of theoretical instruction and 32 hours of practical training per week, totaling 35 contact hours, and is assigned 30 ECTS credits. Through this course, students gain first-hand experience by observing and participating in the organizational structure of healthcare institutions, healthcare service delivery processes, management practices, and institutional operational mechanisms.
