"Department Library Initiative"
The Department of Health Management implemented a meaningful community engagement initiative aimed at improving students' access to academic resources. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fatih Şantaş and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülcan Şantaş, books belonging to the Department of Health Management were placed in the First Floor Reading Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
This initiative was designed to facilitate students' access to academic materials while promoting a collaborative learning culture within shared study spaces. It also contributes to the development of a sustainable academic environment by encouraging knowledge sharing across the Faculty.
The library organization project was carried out with the voluntary participation of Department students Çağla Eroğlu, Sevda Kurt, Emine Büyükgök, Sıla Çelik, Zeynep Vanlıoğlu, Beyzanur Koyuncu, and Emir Kurt. Their active involvement represents an excellent example of university–student collaboration and social responsibility.


"Teaching e-Nabız to Older Adults"
Under the coordination of Assist. Prof. Dr. Sema Dalkılıç, the Department organized a community engagement project entitled "Teaching e-Nabız to Older Adults," with the active participation of 43 students.
As part of the project, students provided one-on-one assistance to older adults in learning how to use Türkiye's e-Nabız Personal Health Record System, including logging into the platform, accessing personal health records, viewing laboratory results, and managing medical appointments.
The project aimed to improve digital health literacy among older adults, facilitate access to healthcare services, and provide students with valuable community-based learning experiences. The initiative received highly positive feedback from both participating students and older adults.


"Introducing Health Management to High School Students"
To strengthen community engagement and regional educational cooperation, the Department organized an information and promotion event at Mimar Sinan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Gamze Kutlu Örün.
Department students Şebnem Gürbüz, Çiçek Doğan, and Cansel Kandemir shared their academic experiences and perspectives on studying Health Management. The event increased awareness of the scope of the profession, current developments in the healthcare sector, and career opportunities available to graduates, helping high school students make informed educational and career choices.

"Health News Awareness Training"
Under the coordination of Assist. Prof. Dr. Pınar Hacıhasanoğlu, the Department organized an educational program to raise awareness about health-related news and media literacy.
The program was conducted with the active participation of students and included educational presentations for second-year students in Political Science and Public Administration, fourth-year students in Business Administration and Public Finance, and first-year students in Health Management.
The presentations addressed important public health topics, including the harmful effects of smoking and other addictions, violence in healthcare, obesity, and related health issues.
Students Sena Karakoç, Nursena Köse, Hüseyin Akdoğan, Aykhan Mammadov, Nadır Iskandarlı, Sibel Arslan, Sıdal Mumcu, and Afra İliker delivered peer education sessions that contributed to increasing public awareness while strengthening their own sense of social responsibility.


"Disaster Preparedness Awareness Initiative"
As part of the Department's community engagement activities, a Disaster Preparedness Awareness Initiative was organized to increase disaster preparedness among students, academic staff, and administrative personnel.
The event was held in the entrance area of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, where participants received practical information on actions to be taken before, during, and after disasters.
Educational posters and visual materials emphasized the importance of accessing accurate information and adopting appropriate safety behaviors. Participants were informed about essential disaster preparedness topics, including the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" technique, emergency preparedness kits, and family emergency plans.
To expand community outreach through digital technologies, QR codes were provided, enabling participants to access the educational video "Disaster Preparedness: Save Lives in 5 Minutes." Participants were encouraged to share the video with family and friends to maximize community awareness.

"Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign"
The Department organized a community engagement activity aimed at promoting public health and improving health literacy through breast cancer awareness.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Res. Assist. Dr. Pınar Nur Dalgıç and organized by Department students Aleyna Özsoy, Cansel Kandemir, İremnaz Kilci, Nurdane Öztürk, and Aleyna Bozgeyik.
Participants received information on the importance of early detection, breast cancer screening methods, and breast self-examination. Educational brochures were distributed to increase public awareness, and students engaged directly with community members by answering questions and encouraging participation in national breast cancer screening programs.




"Health Policies Every Citizen Should Know"
The Department organized a community engagement event entitled "Health Policies Every Citizen Should Know," under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Kanoğlu.
The presentations were prepared and delivered by students Rukiye Aydoğan, Sevda Kurt, and Ayşegül Danış.
The event focused on General Health Insurance (GHI) and the Family Medicine System in Türkiye. Through this initiative, participants gained a better understanding of access to healthcare services, health insurance systems, and the importance of preventive healthcare. The activity also contributed to increasing public awareness of fundamental health policies and healthcare rights.
