Transportation, one of the key elements of economic and social life, interacts closely with many other factors at both national and urban levels. Social and economic developments in recent years have increased people's expectations for safer, more comfortable living conditions and more efficient use of time.
The importance of railway transportation, particularly in terms of safety, speed, its contribution to the national economy, and its role in industrialization, has become increasingly recognized in Türkiye. The rapid development of railway transportation worldwide, together with new applications in electrification and signaling systems, has also increased the importance of ensuring the safe operation of increasingly complex railway traffic.
The training of qualified mechanical and technical personnel capable of meeting the requirements of modern railway systems is therefore of significant importance. In addition, recent developments in metro and urban rail operations have further increased the need for a skilled workforce in these fields.
The Rail Systems Mechanical Technology Program, established within our Vocational School, aims to educate responsible, professionally competent, and highly motivated technical personnel who can contribute effectively to railway transportation. Through the laboratory facilities available within the program, students are provided with opportunities to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical applications.
