Establishment

The Rail Systems Mechanical Technology Program, established under the Department of Transportation Services of our Vocational School, became active in the Fall Semester of the 2021–2022 Academic Year. The program admitted its first students and commenced its education and training activities during the same period. Education, training, and research activities within the department are currently carried out by three (3) lecturers.

Educational Objectives

  • To provide students with in-depth knowledge of the mechanical components, operating principles, and manufacturing processes of rail system vehicles such as locomotives, railway cars, and metro vehicles.
  • To equip students with fundamental knowledge and skills in machine elements, machining processes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and materials technology.
  • To develop students’ competencies in diagnosing mechanical faults in rail system vehicles and managing periodic maintenance and repair processes.
  • To provide students with practical experience through workshop, laboratory, and field applications conducted in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • To support the development of graduates as professionals who are well prepared for employment in the railway sector and capable of rapidly adapting to emerging mechanical technologies.
