Dear Students,
The discipline of Public Finance has a deep-rooted tradition in Turkey, with historical origins dating back to 1913. Most recently, with the restructuring of universities in 1982, Public Finance was established as a separate department under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS). Since then, Public Finance departments have continued their academic activities through undergraduate and graduate programs.
At our faculty, the Department of Public Finance has been actively training highly qualified finance professionals since the 2018-2019 academic year, with a student-centered approach and a dynamic academic staff.
This strong institutional tradition in Turkey has led to the development of highly competent professionals in Public Finance and has facilitated significant academic contributions to the discipline. Public Finance’s influence extends across all sectors in Turkey, from economics to politics. Establishing an independent public finance discipline in Turkey has also contributed to forming a rich body of finance literature and making valuable contributions to global financial scholarship. In this regard, the Department of Public Finance at Yozgat Bozok University continues its scientific research and academic activities.
Our department’s primary objective is to equip public economics and public finance students with universal and local financial knowledge. The program is designed to provide students with the professional competencies necessary for success in both practical and professional life.
With our comprehensive and up-to-date curriculum, graduates will develop strong analytical thinking skills in financial, economic, and political matters and acquire the ability to interpret and apply their knowledge. Our graduates are expected to contribute to Turkey’s public and private sectors, particularly within the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, by bringing their expertise to key administrative positions.
Best regards,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berkan Karagöz
