ABOUT US
The Department of Archaeology was established in Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2010 and started to accept students for the first time in the 2017-2018 academic year. Currently, there are eight lecturers in our department, including one Associate Professor, four Assistant Professor, two Research Assistant Doctors and one Research Assistant. The field of study of the department include Prehistory, Protohistory and Near Eastern Archaeology and Classical Archaeology. The faculty members of our department carry out important studies in line with their fields of expertise. In addition to the basic courses, specialization information is also presented to the students. Our department has two classrooms and one laboratory. In addition to the publications and e-resources within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Library and Yozgat Bozok University Central Library, which are open to students' use, online publications can also be accessed through links to different databases. This makes it easier for our students to access the documents.
OUR PURPOSE
It is the introduction of prehistoric and historical ages within the framework of Archaeological Science. Archaeeological education is given in our department, especially under the leadership of the artifacts belonging to the Anatolian Geography. With the education we provide to our students, we aim to train qualified and expert archaeologists who can bring the cultural assets of our country to light with scientific methods, and who can ensure the preservation and display of cultural assets by using modern methods and modern technologies in their profession.
Department Language: The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.
Description of the Department: The field of study of the department is Prehistory, Protohistory and Pre-Asian Archeology, Classical Archeology.
Admission and Registration Conditions: To be eligible for placement by getting enough points from the higher education transition exam organized by OSYM.
Graduation Requirements: To have successfully completed at least 240 ECTS credit courses as a result of 8 semesters of education determined by the department.
Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Success score is calculated by adding 60% of the semester or end-of-year exam score to 40% of the midterm exam score average. Success grades; success points are determined by the relative evaluation method, the principles of which are determined by the Senate.
Higher Degree Programs: Students who successfully complete the undergraduate program can apply to study in graduate programs.
