YOZGAT PROVİNCE and DISTRICTS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY PROJECT

With the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, the survey, which explores "Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and By-zantine Periods" in Yozgat Province and its Districts on behalf of Yozgat Bozok University, is carried out under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Hacer Sancaktar, a faculty member in the Department of Archaeology at Yozgat Bozok University. The survey, which started on 02.06.2017, continues with the participation of students from our archaeology department as well as faculty members from Yozgat Bozok University and related departments of diffe-rent universities. Although it is known that Yozgat Province was inhabited uninterruptedly from the Prehistoric Period to the Republican Period, it has not been investigated with a systematic study. The research project, which is planned to continue for five years, is a comprehensive researchcomprehensive research for on-site documentation of cultural as-sets in Yozgat Province and its surrounding districts.

IRON AGE and HELLENİSTİC PERİOD TUNCELİ SURVEY PROJECT

Tunceli Iron Age and Hellenistic Period survey project continuesing within the provincial borders of Tunceli. It was started by a small team in 2016 under the chairmanship of Asst. Prof. Serkan Erdoğan with the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Within the scope of the project, which is planned to continue for five years, it is aimed to carry out an archaeological survey in order to reveal the Iron Age and Hellenistic cultural structure of the province of Tunceli in detail, to record the finds and architectural remains and to document them through photography and drawing. ResearchesResearch aims, how the Early Iron Age started in the region and what cultural elements it are represented, what were the inno-vations brought by the expansion of the Urartian Kingdom to the region, which routes or roads were used in the Urartu Period, the Urartian settlement types, possible open-air worship areas, reasons and how the mineral resources were operated in the Iron Age and the social, cultural and economic organization of the local structures in the region in that era. In addition, it is among the aims of the research to find out what cultural changes took place in the region after the end of the Urartian domination and how the material cultures of the Late Iron Age and Hellenistic Period were represented.
