The Department of Archaeology was established in 2010 within the Faculty of Science and Humanities at Yozgat Bozok University and began admitting students for the first time in the 2017–2018 academic year.

Currently, the department has a total of eight academic staff members, comprising one Professor, one Associate Professor and six Senior Lecturers. The department’s areas of specialisation are Prehistory, Protohistory, Near Eastern Archaeology and Classical Archaeology.

Our academic staff carry out significant research in line with their respective fields of expertise. In addition to core courses, students are also taught specialised subject knowledge. Our department has two lecture theatres and one laboratory at its disposal. Furthermore, students have access to publications and e-resources housed within the Yozgat Bozok University Central Library, as well as online publications via links to various databases. This facilitates our students’ access to academic materials.
