Welcome to the Department of Journalism!

The Department of Journalism admitted its first students in 2019 and has a dynamic and highly qualified academic staff. The Department comprises three divisions: General Journalism, Press and Publishing Techniques, and Press and Publishing Management. It graduated its first students in 2023.

The primary aim of the Department of Journalism is to provide students with a solid foundation in the social sciences, introduce them to theoretical approaches in different areas of journalism, and equip them with the professional skills required to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Accordingly, the Department offers a journalism education that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical training.

Our graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work across a wide range of traditional and digital media environments.

Graduates may pursue careers as reporters, photojournalists, editors, and copywriters. They may also work as press advisors and social media managers for non-governmental organisations and political parties. With the rapid development of digital and online publishing, career opportunities for journalism graduates continue to expand.
