Dear Students,

Congratulations on successfully completing a challenging journey and earning your place in your chosen program. Welcome to Yozgat Bozok University!

As the English Language Teaching and English Language and Literature programs are conducted entirely in English, students are required to complete the Compulsory English Preparatory Program before beginning their undergraduate studies.

📚 Compulsory English Preparatory Program

The Compulsory English Preparatory Program consists of two levels:

  • L2.2 (B1-B1+)

  • L3 (B2)

Before the start of the academic year, you will take the English Proficiency and Placement Exam. Based on your performance in this exam, you will be placed in the level appropriate to your English proficiency.

  • Students placed in L2.2 (B1-B1+) will receive preparatory education for one academic year.

  • Students placed in L3 (B2) will receive preparatory education for one semester.

Students who successfully complete their assigned level will be eligible to continue their undergraduate studies in their departments.

🎯 Exemption from the Preparatory Program

Students who meet one of the following requirements may be exempted from the Compulsory English Preparatory Program and proceed directly to their undergraduate programs:

1. Obtaining a score of 70 or above in the English Proficiency and Placement Exam administered by our University.

2. Obtaining a score of 70 or above in YDS, YÖKDİL, or e-TEP, or obtaining an equivalent or higher score in an international English language examination recognized as equivalent to these examinations by ÖSYM (the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center).

Students who meet one of these requirements must apply to the Directorate of the School of Foreign Languages with a written petition and their official examination result document.

📌 Important Information

The English Proficiency and Placement Exam will be administered in two stages. Detailed information regarding the exam dates, format, content, and other procedures will be announced as soon as possible on the Announcements section of the School of Foreign Languages website and on the official website of Yozgat Bozok University.
