Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Yakupoğlu was born on October 16, 1977 in Trabzon. He completed his primary and secondary education in Görele. He graduated from Uludağ University, Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Science Department in 2002. He completed his master's degree in the Soil Science Department of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Institute of Science, in 2005, and his doctorate in 2010 at the same institute. He worked as a Research Assistant in the 50/D cadre between 2005-2010. In 2011, he started working as an academician at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Science Department as an Assistant Professor. He received the title of "Associate Professor" in 2015. He was appointed to the position of "Associate Professor" in 2016, and to the position of "Prof. Dr." in 2021 at Yozgat Bozok University, Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Science Department. His studies focused on erosion mechanisms, soil management systems, interactions between soil organic matter and soil structure, rainfall simulators, stubble burning, and sustainable ecosystem management. He took part in many international and national projects in different positions (MC member, executive, researcher, scholarship holder, local organizer, etc.). He gave lectures at foreign universities many times within the scope of the Erasmus+ exchange program. He assumed positions such as Department Head, Department Head, various coordinators and commission members. He was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Yozgat Bozok University in April 2023 as an acting Dean and in May 2024 as a principal Dean. Yakupoğlu is married with three children.
