Plant Protection Research Laboratory

The Plant Protection Research Laboratory has been established in an area of 100 m². Research activities in the fields of Entomology and Phytopathology are conducted in the laboratory. The laboratory focuses on the isolation, purification, propagation, and culturing of plant pathogens and insect pests. In addition, studies are carried out to obtain essential oils and plant extracts from various plant species and to evaluate their potential use in the management of plant diseases and insect pests. Furthermore, the laboratory is equipped with the necessary infrastructure for biochemical and molecular research, enabling advanced scientific studies in plant protection.

Student Teaching Laboratory

The Student Teaching Laboratory occupies an area of 80 m² and is designed to support practical education in the field of Plant Protection. The laboratory is equipped with 20 stereo binocular microscopes and 15 light microscopes, which are used during undergraduate laboratory courses and practical sessions. In addition, the laboratory features one stereo binocular microscope equipped with a high-definition (HD) digital camera connected to a projection system. This system enables instructors to simultaneously display and explain the structures and specimens under examination in detail, allowing all students to observe the same material while conducting hands-on examinations using their own microscopes.

Systematics Laboratory

The Systematics Laboratory of the Department of Plant Protection occupies an area of 40 m². The laboratory is equipped with two stereo microscopes (Leica S8 APO), one stereo microscope with a digital imaging system (Leica M125), and one light microscope (Leica DM750) for research purposes. In addition, the laboratory contains one refrigerator and three metal storage cabinets, which are used for the proper storage of research materials and laboratory consumables. The Systematics Laboratory is primarily used for microscopic examination, identification, and taxonomic studies in the field of Entomology, as well as in Nematology, Acarology, and Mycology. The laboratory provides the necessary facilities for research and diagnostic studies involving a wide range of biological specimens.
