Our department started education as the Department of Chemistry in the 1996-1997 academic year and graduated a total of 470 students. In addition, the Master's program started accepting students in 2007 and the Doctoral program began accepting students in 2017, and 69 students in the Master's program and 3 students in the Doctoral program have successfully completed their theses.

There are 7 Professors, 2 Assistant Professor Doctor, 1 Research Assistant and 1 Lecturer in our department. 

Our department aims to train qualified human resources needed in the field of chemistry.

There are 7 research laboratories, 2 student laboratories, 1 instrumented analysis laboratory, 2 material warehouses and 4 classrooms in our department.

According to Web of Science data, the chemistry department members have 295 publications, 3 patents, 11 TUBITAK projects, 1 Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology Techno Initiative project, 3 KOSGEB projects and 93 BAP projects since its establishment.
