The Biology Department was founded in the 1996-1997 Academic Year and 512 students graduated from the Undergraduate Program. The Molecular Biology and Genetics Program started education in 2014 with a quota of 31 students and graduated a total of 108 students. The Master's Program started accepting students in 2008 and 38 students successfully completed their theses. The Doctorate Program started accepting students in 2016 and 4 students successfully completed their theses.
In our department, 5 Professors, 1 Assistant Professor and 2 Research Assistants work in the Departments of Botany, General Biology, Hydrobiology, Molecular Biology and Zoology.
Our department has a total of 8 research laboratories, 2 student laboratories, 1 chemical material warehouse and 4 classrooms.
The department faculty members have 237 national and international articles, 85 BAP, TUBITAK, EU and DPT projects, 120 national and international proceedings, 10 books and book chapters.
