Quality Commission

Purpose: To manage the department’s quality assurance processes and ensure the implementation of BKYS, KAP, and BİDR activities.

Duties:

* Establishing, implementing, and continuously improving the departmental quality assurance system.

* Coordinating the processes of KAP (Institutional Accreditation Program) and monitoring data entries.

* Carrying out the preparation process of BİDR (Unit Internal Evaluation Report).

* Ensuring that all internal departmental processes are conducted in accordance with the PDCA Cycle (Plan–Do–Check–Act).

* Collecting feedback from internal and external stakeholders and providing recommendations for improvement.

* Maintaining regular communication with the Faculty Quality Commission.

* Managing processes related to BKYS (Integrated Quality Management System).

Rukiye ÇETİN (Student)

 

Strategic Planning and Accreditation Commission

Purpose: To conduct the department’s FEDEK accreditation processes and carry out annual monitoring activities related to strategic objectives.

Duties:

* Managing the FEDEK application, monitoring, and evaluation processes.

* Preparing and updating the Self-Evaluation Report (ÖDR).

* Monitoring the targets of the strategic plan and evaluating performance indicators.

* Implementing necessary improvements related to these processes.

Education and Training Commission

Purpose: To plan, manage, and improve all educational processes within the department.

Duties:

* Regulating the opening, closure, and revision of undergraduate courses.

* Ensuring curriculum proposals, ECTS updates, and harmonization of course contents.

* Managing processes related to the summer school.

* Following academic procedures related to scholarships, archives, and student affairs.

* Ensuring the up-to-date alignment of program outcomes with course learning outcomes.

* Preparing improvement recommendations for education–training processes.

Academic Incentive Application and Evaluation Commission

Purpose: To ensure that academic incentive applications are evaluated in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Duties:

* Reviewing academic incentive applications based on the regulation in effect for the relevant year.

* Verifying the accuracy of publication, project, citation, and activity scores.

* Requesting additional information or documents when necessary.

* Submitting the evaluation results to the faculty.

Horizontal Transfer and Course Adaptation Commission

Purpose: To evaluate applications of students wishing to transfer to the department and to arrange their course adaptations.

Duties:

* Reviewing horizontal/vertical transfer applications in accordance with the relevant regulations.

* Conducting equivalency analyses for courses previously taken in the student’s former program.

* Determining exemption and adaptation decisions and notifying the student affairs office.

* Identifying deficiencies in relation to the program outcomes and providing necessary guidance to the student.

Graduation and Transcript Review Commission

Purpose: To verify the compliance of graduation procedures, transcripts, and academic achievement statuses.

Duties:

* Reviewing whether the required ECTS credits and course load for graduation have been completed.

* Checking the accuracy of transcripts and identifying missing or inconsistent records.

* Verifying the calculations of the student’s grade point average.

* Identifying any issues that may prevent graduation and reporting them to the department chair.

Promotion and Social Activities Commission

Purpose: To manage the department’s promotion activities, strengthen student engagement, and organize social events.

Duties:

* Ensuring that the department website and social media accounts remain up to date.

* Planning departmental promotion days, seminars, conferences, and events.

* Administering and evaluating student surveys.

* Coordinating the department’s communication activities with internal and external stakeholders.

* Collaborating with student clubs and societies to organize social activities.

Minor / Double Major Commission

Purpose: To ensure that applications for Minor and Double Major programs are evaluated in accordance with academic criteria.

Duties:

* Evaluating Minor/Double Major applications in compliance with the relevant regulations.

* Verifying academic requirements for the admission of eligible students.

* Determining course plans and academic obligations.

* Monitoring students’ progress throughout the program.

Internship Commission

Purpose: To oversee and manage the internship processes of the students in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

* Assessing the suitability of internship placements.

* Monitoring deficiencies during the internship process and providing necessary guidance.
