Literature, which reveals emotions, thoughts and dreams on an aesthetic ground, is a discipline that transfers the thousands of years of memory of societies to the present day in oral or written form. It aims to help people understand each other better, to develop awareness and to take into account the possibilities of language. The Department of Turkish Language and Literature is based on analyzing the stages of political, social and cultural change that Turkish society has undergone in history in an academic framework based on literary products. In addition to focusing on the similarities and differences in other Turkish-speaking geographies to show the richness of Turkish, it also gives the ability to see the subtleties in the language with modern theoretical techniques. It adopts the understanding of raising free individuals who can interpret the values of Turkish language and literature, think analytically and have responsibility.
The young and competent staff of Yozgat Bozok University Department of Turkish Language and Literature, on the other hand, provides our students with the ability to connect with their tradition/roots and to gain the ability to understand the individual, society and cultures with the department courses that spread over a wide cultural spectrum.
