The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was opened in 1996-1997 academic year as an affiliate of Erciyes University Yozgat Faculty of Arts and Sciences and still continues its education program as an affiliate of Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The department started to accept students from 1996-1997 academic year and opened the second education program in 2008-2009 academic year.
In our department, there are 5 main branches as New Turkish Literature, Turkish Folk Literature, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Language and Old Turkish Language. Additionally, there are 12 academic staff as 1 Prof. Dr., 2 Assoc. Prof., 7 Asst. Prof., and 2 Research Assistants.
The current faculty members of our department have served as executive and researcher in the BAP projects. In addition, they are working as researchers and executives in other public institutions and organizations such as TDK, TEES, TEİS.
