Purpose and Vision of the Community

Purpose:

The purpose of the Mathematics and Intelligence Community is to bring together students who do not view mathematics as just a course but are interested in mathematical thinking, dealing with mathematics, the history, development and philosophy of mathematics, and to meet different expectations in various ways.

Fields of Study:

Workshops: Organizing mathematics workshops that aim for students to make presentations on mathematics.

General Seminars: Organizing various scientific seminars that faculty members and students can participate in.

Exhibitions: Opening various exhibitions that will make students love mathematics.

Events: Organizing various educational and developmental events related to mathematics.

Announcing new developments related to mathematics.

OUR EVENTS

WOMEN AND SCIENCE X

The Women and Mathematics X event, organized jointly by the Turkish Women Mathematicians Association (TKMD) and Yozgat Bozok University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and sponsored by the Mathematics and Intelligence Community, took place on Friday, November 29, 2024. The event, which attracted a wide range of participants from both universities outside the city and the city of Yozgat, featured two mathematics talks, a sister science talk, a panel, a musical recital, and an exhibition. MATHEMATICS AND INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY BAZAAR - 2

The bazaar organized by the Mathematics and Intelligence Community took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00 at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The income from the bazaar, which saw intense participation, will be used in the social responsibility projects that the community will carry out from now on.

YOZGAT MATHEMATICS DAYS

The Yozgat Mathematics Days, dedicated to Cem TEZER, who passed away in recent years while working as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Middle East Technical University, was organized by our Mathematics and Intelligence Community on May 6-10, 2024. 3 exhibitions, 8 workshops and 2 conferences were held within the scope of the events. A total of 1310 people from 10 different schools and university students attended the exhibitions and workshops. A total of 1510 people attended the events, where 45 students from the Mathematics and Primary School Mathematics Teaching Department were on duty.

MATHEMATICS AND INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY BAZAAR - 1

The bazaar organized by the Mathematics and Intelligence Community took place on Wednesday, 24.04.2024 at 11:00 in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The income from the bazaar, which attracted a lot of attention, will be used in the social responsibility projects that the community will carry out from now on.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT

As members of the Mathematics and Intelligence Community, we visited Kırşehir Çiçekdağı Şehit Öğretmen Bayram Tekin Middle School on 07.03.2024. During this visit, we donated books to the libraries established at the school and played math games with the students.

DEPARTMENT PROMOTION ACTIVITIES

As members of the Mathematics and Intelligence Community, we visited 6 high schools in Yozgat between 16.05.2022 and 27.05.2022. During these visits, we both played math games with the students and introduced our Mathematics Department.
