Division of Guidance and Psychological Counselling

The undergraduate programme of the Division of Guidance and Psychological Counselling has two main aims: (1) to provide prospective counsellors with a comprehensive background in psychological counselling and guidance, and (2) to train the counsellors needed by educational institutions in the first instance, as well as by health and industrial organisations.

Graduates work as school counsellors in state and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, in guidance and research centres, and in special education centres; in the human resources units of public and private organisations; in the family and juvenile courts affiliated with the Ministry of Justice; in the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Health; in the psychological counselling and guidance centres of universities; and in the relevant units of the Turkish Armed Forces and the General Directorate of Security.

In addition to its undergraduate programme, the Division admits students to a Master’s programme with thesis in Guidance and Psychological Counselling.
