Division of Curriculum and Instruction

The Division of Curriculum and Instruction delivers the core pedagogical courses of the faculties of education, offering both theoretical and practical courses that support the professional development of prospective teachers. In line with its vision of educating individuals who possess twenty-first-century teaching competencies, the Division aims to train prospective teachers who are democratic, committed to ethical values, take pleasure in learning, know how to reach students with different characteristics, believe that every student can learn, possess problem-solving skills, and are able to apply their theoretical knowledge in the classroom.

Within this framework, the Division delivers professional teaching knowledge courses in various faculties and conducts innovative research based on international cooperation aimed at improving the quality of teacher education and of higher education institutions. Alongside its research activities, the Division carries out joint projects with a range of institutions in order to improve practice within the Turkish education system, with the aim of translating the theoretical outcomes of scientific work into practice.
