Established in 2010 within the Faculty of Communication, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema became the faculty's pioneer department by enrolling its first students in 2017. As of the 2023–2024 academic year, the Department provides contemporary, scientific education blending theory and practice to approximately 333 students. Having produced its first graduates in 2021, the Department has graduated 99 students to date.

Approaching the field of communication from a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective, the Department has completed a significant portion of its efforts to enhance human resources and technical infrastructure to equip students across radio, television, and cinema—the three major branches of modern mass media. With an academic staff growing stronger each term, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema employs a total of 9 academic staff members: 2 Associate Professor, 6 Assistant Professors and 1 Research Assistants.

The Department maximizes student access to technical equipment such as lighting, sound, and cameras, supporting their creative endeavors through both technical and theoretical courses. Established in 2019 and broadcasting on 107.0 FM in Yozgat, Bozok FM provides students with professional training and proficiency opportunities under the guidance of expert faculty members, allowing them to gain real-time practical experience. Students from both the Department and the faculty continue their work within Bozok FM to test themselves and develop their talents. Additionally, a Computer Laboratory and a Green Screen Studio offer hands-on practical training environments for students within their respective fields.

Graduates of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema find career opportunities in radio and television stations, video and advertising production companies, and domestic or international news agencies. Furthermore, through their creative initiatives, they can produce films and documentaries for festival screenings and digital media distribution. Graduates are trained and employed in industry roles such as director, producer, cinematographer, screenwriter, and editor—professions demanding creativity, meticulousness, organization, and discipline. Additionally, graduates can pursue graduate education to build academic careers within higher education institutions.
