1. Which courses do I need to have completed in order to do an internship?

To take the FTR 248 Summer Internship I course, you must have passed at least 4 of the following courses:

  • FTR 234 Electrophysical Agents 1
  • FTR 244 Electrophysical Agents 2
  • FTR 237 Basic Measurement and Evaluation in Physiotherapy
  • FTR 232 Manual Therapy Techniques 1
  • FTR 242 Manual Therapy Techniques 2

To take the FTR 370 Summer Internship II course, you must have passed at least 6 of the following courses:

  • FTR 351 Neurophysiological Approaches I

2. What should I pay attention to during the internship?

  • It is your responsibility to deliver your forms and files to the officials of the institution where the practice is carried out and to retrieve them.
  • At the end of the internship, you must submit your documents to the internship commission in a sealed and confidential envelope.
  • You must comply with the practice program and the rules set at the internship site.
  • In case of absence, you must document your excuses and obtain permission. Afterwards, you must make up for it. In case of absence, you must inform the instructor responsible for the internship within the same day at the latest.
  • It is prohibited to share visual and audio information obtained during the internship on social media. Otherwise, disciplinary action will be taken.

3. How are insurance procedures carried out during the internship?

In accordance with Article 5 of the General Health Insurance Law No. 5510 and the Vocational Education Law No. 3308, the "occupational accident and occupational disease insurance" premiums of students doing internships during higher education are paid by the University. However, insurance premiums are not covered by the University for students doing internships abroad, and the student must obtain insurance according to the conditions of the country where they are located.

4. How is the internship evaluated?

The internship evaluation is carried out by taking the weighted average of the internship logbook, the workplace evaluation form and the internship exam grade. Evaluation criteria:

  • 30% of the internship logbook grade
  • 30% of the workplace evaluation form
  • 40% of the internship exam grade

To be successful, the average of the internship logbook and the workplace evaluation form must be at least 65 points, and a total of at least 65 points must be obtained from the internship exam evaluation criteria.

5. Whom can I report the problems I encounter during the internship to?

You should first report the problems you encounter during the internship to the instructor of the relevant course. If they cannot be resolved, you can apply to the head of department.

6. How can I change my internship location?

If you want to change your internship location, you must have a valid excuse and document this excuse. You must submit your petition stating your excuse to the internship commission. You cannot change your internship location unless it is approved by the commission.

7. How long should the internship be?

The internship period is determined to be no less than 20 business days. One week is considered as five business days; however, depending on the practices of the workplace where the internship is carried out and the working conditions of the profession, it can be accepted as up to 6 days. Work carried out on official holidays is not counted towards the internship period.

8. Will I be paid during the internship?

Yozgat Bozok University is not a party to the payment of an internship fee during or after the internship. The institution or organization where you do your internship may make a fee payment within the framework of the relevant legislation.

9. Can I do a voluntary internship?

Yes, students can do voluntary internships. Voluntary internships are at least 20 business days and at most 90 business days. Insurance procedures are carried out by the University for students doing voluntary internships; however, the University is not a party regarding the internship fee. Voluntary internships are shown on the student's transcript and diploma supplement.

10. What happens if I am absent during the internship?

If you have an acceptable excuse during the internship (accident, health problems, death of a first-degree relative, etc.) and document it, leave may be granted for up to 20% of the total internship days. However, the internship of a student who is absent for three consecutive days without an excuse is terminated and the student is considered unsuccessful.

11. How can I appeal the internship evaluation results?

If you wish to appeal the internship evaluation results, you must apply in writing to the internship commission. Your appeal is reviewed and concluded by the internship commission.

12. Am I required to comply with the dress code rules at my internship location?

Yes, you must comply with the dress code rules of the institution where you do your internship. If these rules are not followed, disciplinary action may be taken.

13. What should I do if I have an occupational accident during the internship?

If you have an occupational accident during the internship, you must immediately report it to the internship supervisor and the institution officials. The necessary procedures will be carried out under the occupational accident and occupational disease insurance.

14. How should I prepare the internship file?

You must fill out the internship file completely and correctly, together with documents such as the internship logbook, the workplace evaluation form and the internship attendance tracking form. At the end of the internship, you must submit these documents to the internship commission in a sealed and confidential envelope.

15. Can I do an internship abroad?

Yes, you can do an internship abroad. However, the premiums to be paid for the insurance of students who will do internships abroad are not covered by the University, and you must obtain occupational accident and financial liability insurance according to the conditions of the country where you are located.

16. Which documents must I submit to the school by when at the end of the internship?

At the end of the internship, you must prepare and submit the following documents to the school:

  1. Internship Evaluation Form: It must be approved by the physiotherapist responsible for your internship.
  2. Internship Attendance Tracking Form: The form showing your attendance status during the internship.
  3. Internship Logbook: The logbook in which you write in detail the work and experiences you carried out during the internship.

You must submit these documents to the instructor responsible for the internship course in a sealed and stamped envelope to be reviewed and evaluated by the internship commission. You must deliver your documents within 15 business days after your internship ends. If you send the documents by post, you are responsible for any problems that may arise due to postal delays.

17. How can I obtain an official document to use the internships I completed in Turkey abroad?

After filling out the document at the link on a computer, it is sufficient to apply to the school for signature and stamp. You can collect your approved document from the school with a wet signature and stamp.
