Undergraduate students (excluding English Language Teaching and English Language and Literature students) who have enrolled in our University in the 2024-2025 Academic Year who want to take Optional English Preparatory Class education should follow the steps below.  Optional English Preparatory Class applications will be made online from this page between 12 September 2024 - 14 September 2024.

Our students

1. Students who want to take a 1-year Optional English Preparatory Class will make their 1st year department course selections with their advisors like our other students. (The final registration of the Optional Preparatory Class of these students will be made by our School and will be changed to the Optional Preparatory Class as of 20 September 2024).

2. They should apply using the ‘apply’ button below (it will become active on Thursday, 12 September 2024), whether or not they have marked as I want to take Optional Preparatory education during ÖSYM E-registration. Applications will end on 14 September 2024 at 23:59.

3. Our students who register online will start their Optional Preparatory Class lessons as of Monday, 16 September 2024. Classes will be held in the classrooms of the School of Foreign Languages at Erdoğan Akdağ East Campus (Faculty of Communication Building 4th floor).

4. They will take the Placement Exam to be held on Wednesday 18 September 2024 (Exam Announcement will be made separately). Placement Exam scores will not affect the registration status of our students and can be used in case of separation to branches.

Also;

5. If our students who have registered but have decided not to take the Optional English Preparatory Class, if they apply to the School of Foreign Languages with a petition until the end of working hours on Wednesday, 18 September 2024 at the latest, their final registration will not be made and they will continue their courses in their departments.

6. In the Optional English Preparatory Class, 24 hours of intensive English education is given 24 hours a week, and our students cannot take courses from their departments during the 1 academic year they receive Optional Preparatory Class education.

*Students enrolled in English Language Teaching and English Language and Literature cannot apply to the Optional Preparatory Class as they will study in the Compulsory Preparatory Class. These students should follow the Compulsory Preparatory Class Announcements.

**Only undergraduate students can benefit from the Optional English Preparatory Class. Applications of our Vocational School Students are not accepted.
