1. What is the order of priority in course registration?

In course registration, there is an order of priority: failed courses,  courses not taken from lower semesters, and upper semester courses, respectively. (Registration for upper semester course/courses cannot be done by skipping the courses that are likely to be opened in the summer school.)

First-year students are required by the regulation to take all the opened courses in their curriculum. These students cannot take courses from upper semesters.

2. Can the Department of Geological Engineering find the institution where the summer internship will be done?

Our department is not obliged to find the company where our student will do their summer internship. However, we help our students who cannot find an internship place or have difficulty finding one by directing them to the Chamber of Geological Engineers, various state institutions, and our faculty members.

3. Can courses be taken from the summer school while doing a summer internship?

Our students cannot take courses from the summer school while doing a summer internship.

4. Can the internship be done during the Fall / Spring semester break?

It can be done if the student is about to graduate or has no attendance requirement for the spring semester courses. In other cases, internships cannot be done during the academic period (from the start date of the classes until the end date of the make-up exams).

5. When does an internship start?

It must be started from a date after the make-up exams.

6. Is attendance mandatory for classes?

Students must attend classes, practices, and exams. The attendance status of the students is monitored by the course instructors. The limit of compulsory attendance is at least 70% for theoretical courses and at least 80% for applied courses. Students who cannot fulfill these conditions cannot take the semester or year-end exams. (Calculate in hours.) Students who have met the attendance requirement for a course but failed are not required to attend again when they repeat the course, but those who fail applied courses may be required to attend again.

7. Who can the student generally ask their questions?

They can ask their academic advisors who process their semester course registrations. In addition, they can also ask all department faculty members.
