
The Department of Geological Engineering was established in 1994 within the Yozgat Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Erciyes University. The first student admission to the undergraduate program was in the 1995-1996 Academic Year, and the department produced its first graduates in the 1999-2000 Academic Term. With the establishment of Bozok University in 2006, the department joined the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. In the 2009-2010 Academic Year, students were admitted to the evening education and graduate programs.
Consisting of 4 Divisions, namely General Geology, Applied Geology, Mineral Deposits-Geochemistry, and Mineralogy-Petrography, the Department of Geological Engineering has shown rapid development in terms of academic staff and laboratory infrastructure since 1994. The academic staff consists of a total of 6 faculty members, including 5 professors and 1 assistant professor. To date, 17 master's students and a total of 418 undergraduate students from the regular and evening education programs have graduated. Currently, 10 undergraduate and 23 master's students are continuing their education in the Department of Geological Engineering.
