In our department, the language of instruction is Turkish, and graduate education is provided in addition to the undergraduate program. In the 2022-2023 academic year, course schedules were revised to offer a more modern and practical education. The undergraduate program is designed for four years (eight semesters) and requires the completion of 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). Additionally, students must complete a Graduation Project to qualify for graduation.

The Department of Sociology includes the following subfields: General Sociology and Methodology, Applied Sociology, Institutional Sociology, and Sociometry. The department is staffed by five associate professors and two assistant professors.

Instruction is delivered in lecture halls located in Block B of our faculty, specifically in rooms 201 and 202, as well as in classrooms 405 and 401 in Block C. Room 201 is 80 square meters (84 student capacity), room 202 is 40 square meters (60 student capacity), room 405 is 80 square meters (84 student capacity), and room 401 is 30 square meters (40 student capacity).

The Sociology Master’s Program currently has 22 students enrolled. Graduate courses are conducted in the Seminar Room located on our department’s floor (C Block, 4th Floor).
