Faculty of Tourism, Yozgat Bozok University

The School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management was established at Yozgat Bozok University in 2009. In accordance with the letter of the Ministry of National Education dated 13 November 2013 and numbered 3355345, the School was closed pursuant to Additional Article 30 of Law No. 2809, dated 28 March 1983, and subsequently transformed into the Faculty of Tourism. This transformation was approved by the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2014/5922, dated 5 February 2014, and entered into force following its publication in the Official Gazette No. 28975 on 17 April 2014.

Within the Faculty, the Departments of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance, and Recreation Management were established with the aim of educating and training qualified tourism professionals. However, pursuant to the decision taken at the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board on 30 October 2018, the Departments of Tourism Management and Tourism Guidance were closed. Subsequently, at its meeting on 17 March 2021, the Higher Education Executive Board evaluated the enrolment rates of programs at state universities, graduate employment opportunities, and the effective use of public resources, and decided to close the Department of Recreation Management as part of this assessment.

As of 2026, the Faculty's Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts has commenced its educational activities with the admission of students. With its practice-oriented approach to education and qualified academic staff, the Department aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required by the tourism industry, food and beverage businesses, the gastronomy sector, and public institutions and organizations. It also seeks to prepare graduates who are committed to professional ethics, innovative in their approach, and well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the sector.

The Faculty currently has a total of five academic staff members, comprising one Professor, who also serves as the Dean, three Assistant Professors, and one Lecturer. The Faculty plans to further expand its academic staff in the near future.
