Department of Primary Education

Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Education was established on November 10, 2008, by the Council of Ministers, following the letter of the Ministry of National Education dated November 4, 2008, and numbered 25088. The Department of Primary Education currently continues its academic activities with 3 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, and 2 Research Assistants.

The department was originally established as the Department of Elementary Education during the restructuring of faculties of education in 1998 to meet the need for teachers in various fields within the elementary education system that emerged following Türkiye’s transition to eight-year compulsory and uninterrupted basic education in 1997. Following a nationwide restructuring in 2016, the department was renamed the Department of Primary Education.

The Division of Early Childhood Education, operating under the Department of Primary Education, trains teachers for kindergartens and other early childhood education institutions, while the Division of Primary School Education trains classroom teachers for primary schools.
