Division of Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education Undergraduate Programme is designed to educate qualified preschool teachers equipped with fundamental theoretical knowledge, pedagogical competence, and practical skills in the fields of early childhood education and child development. The curriculum includes compulsory courses in subject matter knowledge, professional teaching knowledge, and general education, as well as elective courses that students may choose according to their interests and career goals.

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience and aims to equip students with the competencies required to plan, implement, and evaluate educational processes by considering the developmental characteristics of children in early childhood (0–6 years). Through individual, group-based, and interdisciplinary studies, the programme also supports prospective teachers’ collaboration, problem-solving, and professional development skills. In this respect, the programme aims to educate preschool teachers who are capable of supporting children’s holistic development, pursuing continuous professional development, and implementing contemporary educational approaches.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and qualify as preschool teachers.

Career Opportunities

Graduates who meet the requirements of the relevant national teacher recruitment and appointment procedures may be appointed as preschool teachers in public schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. They may also work as preschool teachers or administrators in private educational institutions and may be employed as teachers in special education institutions serving children with special needs.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from the Early Childhood Education Undergraduate Programme, students must successfully complete all courses and practical requirements included in the curriculum, corresponding to a total of 240 ECTS credits. Students are also required to achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Graduation procedures are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation and the University’s regulations governing education, examinations, and assessment.
