Division of Primary School Education

The Primary School Education Undergraduate Programme aims to equip prospective teachers with the theoretical knowledge, pedagogical competence, practical skills, and professional qualifications they will need throughout their careers. The programme adopts a holistic approach that integrates subject matter knowledge with professional teaching knowledge and supports theoretical education through school-based practices and field experiences.

The programme aims to educate prospective teachers who keep up with current developments in their field, possess scientific thinking skills, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, manage their time efficiently, and plan and conduct classroom learning processes in a systematic and organized manner. It also seeks to educate primary school teachers who adhere to the principles of scientific ethics, demonstrate a strong sense of professional responsibility, embrace lifelong learning, and adopt an inclusive educational approach that is sensitive to individuals, society, and the environment.

By supporting both the personal and professional development of prospective teachers, the programme aims to educate qualified primary school teachers who can serve as role models for their students and possess the knowledge and skills required by contemporary education.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary School Education and qualify as primary school teachers.

Career Opportunities

Graduates may work as primary school teachers in public and private educational institutions in accordance with the relevant legislation, including public schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Graduates who meet the relevant requirements may also work in private educational institutions, study and academic support centres, and various educational projects.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from the Primary School Education Undergraduate Programme, students must successfully complete all courses and practical requirements included in the curriculum, corresponding to a total of 240 ECTS credits. Students are also required to achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Graduation procedures are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation and the University’s regulations governing education, examinations, and assessment.
