The practical training areas within the Faculty are used for the practical courses of our Agricultural Economics Department students.

Research and practical studies related primarily to the Department of Horticulture, as well as the Departments of Field Crops and Plant Protection, are conducted on a 114-decare (11.4-hectare) area located in Gedikhasanlı Village, Sorgun District, Yozgat Province. The Gedikhasanlı Research and Application Farm mainly includes plots of apple (9 cultivars grafted onto MM 106 clonal rootstock – 15 decares), pear (7 cultivars grafted onto OHF 333 and Quince A rootstocks – 12 decares), cherry (8 cultivars grafted onto SL 64 and Maxima 14 rootstocks – 3 decares), walnut (7 cultivars – 10 decares), rootstock propagation plots (apple and grapevine clonal rootstocks), and vegetables.

In addition, the facilities include a mushroom production unit where various mushroom species are cultivated and related research is conducted; a vase-life room used for studies on the postharvest physiology of ornamental plants; a greenhouse used for rooting studies on fruit seedlings; a greenhouse for the production of grafted grapevine seedlings; and a grafted grapevine seedling production unit equipped for grafting, soaking, and thermotherapy processes, as well as two cold-storage rooms.
