The Department of Political Science and Public Administration, established within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Yozgat Bozok University, commenced its educational activities in the 2016–2017 academic year with 120 students through its Regular and Second Education programs. In 2020, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) discontinued student admissions to second education programs. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, the student quota for the department has been set at 40 by the Council of Higher Education. The language of instruction is Turkish. Graduates of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration are awarded a bachelor's degree with the professional title of “Political Science and Public Administration Specialist.”

Students wishing to enroll in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration must successfully pass the examinations administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in accordance with the academic and legal regulations of the university. Inter-institutional transfers between diploma programs at universities and intra-institutional transfers between equivalent diploma programs are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles Governing Transfers Between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs at Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer” and the principles established by the University Senate.

The aim of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Yozgat Bozok University is to educate specialists who understand political, social, and economic changes taking place at national and international levels and who, within the framework of culture and civilization, prioritize the beliefs and values, interests, and objectives of our country.

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration comprises three sub-disciplines: Political and Social Sciences, Administrative Sciences, and Urbanization and Environmental Issues. In this context, the department maintains close interdisciplinary connections with fields such as law, economics, sociology, history, geography, and social psychology, and its curriculum has been designed accordingly.

The Department of Political and Social Sciences focuses on concepts, events, and phenomena within the broader field of politics as an academic discipline, particularly in terms of their significance and influence on Turkish and global politics. The Department of Administrative Sciences is concerned with the formation, management, and implementation of public organizations and public policies at local and national levels of government. Accordingly, the discipline encompasses program management—including planning, decision-making, organizing, directing, implementation, and evaluation—as well as resource management, including human resources management and budgeting.

The Department of Urbanization and Environmental Issues is a discipline closely interconnected with sociology, law, and political and social sciences. It focuses on the processes and policies of urbanization at local and national levels, as well as ecology and environmental issues.
