“My First Year Conversations and Adaptation Program” was conducted by the Architectural Restoration Program of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Akdağmadeni Vocational School in order to facilitate the adaptation of first-Deckers who are just starting their education in the 2026-2027 academic year to university life, to ensure that they are informed about academic processes and to strengthen communication and solidarity between students.

On September 24, 2026 at 13:30, at the event organized for first-year students of the Architectural Restoration Program, Lecturer See. Aysel KOLÇAK KAVASOĞULLARI introduced the program and department and informed students about the education and training processes, the university's information systems, academic functioning and basic issues that students may need. The topics that students were curious about regarding university life were discussed, and their questions and opinions were also evaluated.

The event was also enriched through peer mentoring with the participation of second-grade students. Second-year students shared the academic and social experiences they gained during their first year at the university with newly enrolled students and shared their experience about courses, exam processes, applications, student life and program compliance. Thus, it was aimed to strengthen the communication, solidarity and sense of belonging between classes, as well as to enable first-graders to adapt to the program faster. Dec.

In the event, which also involved faculty members, a conversational atmosphere was created with the students to hear their demands, expectations, and opinions. Information was provided for students to adapt more consciously not only to academic processes, but also to the social and professional dimensions of university life.

The program, which is realized with the understanding of ”new beginnings, new friendships", is the mutual interaction of first and second grade students and our Department Head Assoc. Dr. It concluded with the closing speech by Ahmet Cihat ARI.
