The Yozgat Bozok University Project Coordination, Implementation and Research Center was established on December 5, 2011, under the Rectorate. The Project Coordination, Implementation and Research Center aims to contribute to the social, cultural, economic, and technological development process at national and international levels by coordinating projects supported by domestic and foreign sources such as BAP, TÜBİTAK, the EU, the National Agency, KOSGEB, and ORAN, and by developing the capacity for the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of new projects, as well as engaging in new activities and training programs. To this end, our center provides cooperation at national and international levels with relevant public institutions and organizations, civil society organizations, and private institutions, primarily universities, in the fields of project development, coordination and consultancy, training and scientific meetings, project monitoring, project announcement and promotion activities.
By the decision of the University's Board of Directors on February 11, 2016; The Project Coordination, Implementation and Research Center, the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Office (BAP), and the Patent Support Units, all operating in the field of project management, have been merged under one roof to create a stronger and more functional structure. This merger aims to increase the productivity of employees both institutionally and individually, and the project continues under the name Project Coordination, Implementation and Research Center.
As of October 1, 2021, improvements have been made to the BAP process management system. The BAP Automation system has been replaced with the BAPSIS Automation system. This facilitates the electronic evaluation and decision-making process for project applications. Also as of the same date, the BAP Directive and Implementation Principles have been completely revised, and new project types have been introduced for researchers. Applications for General Research Projects, Multidisciplinary Research Projects, Industrial Hemp Research Projects, Guided Research Projects, Participatory Research Projects, International Cooperation Projects, Undergraduate Student Participatory Research Projects, Rapid Support Projects, and Master's, Doctoral, Medical Specialization, etc. Thesis Projects are now being accepted. The documents and forms used have been updated in line with the updates in project types and implementation principles. The previously existing Project Monitoring and Evaluation Groups (PİDEG) have been abolished due to their lengthy nature, and all evaluation and follow-up processes related to BAP projects have been assigned to the commission members. A paid peer review system has been implemented to ensure more objective project evaluations. Projects are reviewed by external reviewers, making the project evaluation processes more transparent. The "performance-based budget limit application" introduced with the new directive aims to incentivize productive researchers. Support limits have been updated in line with price increases. To ensure that BAP project outputs are transformed into high-impact publications, the project closure requirements have been updated with the new directive, and a publication requirement in SCI/SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI indexes has been introduced for many project types. To facilitate sectoral collaboration, the University-Industry Collaboration Research Project type has been added to the directive and procedures, aiming to increase university-industry cooperation.
In 2023, the Ethics Committee and Patent Support Unit were separated from the Project Coordination Center, and it was decided that projects funded externally (excluding TÜBİTAK projects) such as KOP, OR-AN, and KOSGEB would be carried out in cooperation with the unit to which the project manager is affiliated.
