INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS FROM OUR STUDENTS!

Lecturer H. Hazel Aras from the Statistics Department of Yozgat Vocational School, along with her students, participated in the SATEGs’25 – International Defence Technologies and Future Strategies Conference held in Konya between December 17-20, 2025.

Within the scope of the conference, our university students had the opportunity to present their academic studies in the field of defense technologies to international participants. Buse Dayı, a first-year student in the Big Data Analytics Program, presented her study titled “Deep Learning-Based Military Aircraft Classification Resilience Analysis Against Enemy Attacks”; while Utku Açış, a first-year student in the Computer Programming Program, gave a presentation titled “Visualizing Model Attention in SAR-Based Military Target Classification”.

Despite being only first-year students, these studies, which included advanced artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques, were followed with great interest by the conference participants. It was stated that such scientific events, held at an international level, significantly contribute to students' academic development early on; strengthening the research culture and increasing scientific motivation.

Commenting on the matter, the Director of the Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özdemir, said, “It is a great source of pride for us that our students, in their very first year of education, are making presentations at an international conference in the fields of advanced artificial intelligence and defense technologies. Our faculty members, who work diligently in the academic advising process, and our students, who approach scientific production with enthusiasm, are a concrete demonstration of our Vocational School's research-oriented vision.”

As Yozgat Vocational School, we are determined to continue supporting our students' active participation in scientific activities and encouraging their academic achievements.
