General

The Electronics Department, one of the core departments of Bozok University Technical Sciences Vocational School, was established in 2002 under the name Industrial Electronics within Erciyes University. With the establishment of Bozok University in 2006, it transferred to this new university. In 2010, its name was changed to Electronic Technology by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The basic educational principle of the Electronics Department is to train students in the field of electronics by combining current scientific and technological studies, thus meeting the needs of the technological age and producing the intermediate personnel desired by the sector. The language of instruction is Turkish.

Students who successfully complete all courses (totaling 120 ECTS credits) and 20 days of mandatory professional internship in the two-year (four-semester) education program receive an associate degree.

Objective

Through the curriculum of the Electronic Technology Program, students will learn to: understand the basic principles of electronics; assemble, maintain, and repair electronic equipment; Graduates learn to use measuring instruments, current software programs designed for computers and industry, to draw and read electronic circuit diagrams using computers, to understand how industrial machinery is electronically controlled by computers, to perform maintenance and repair when necessary, to prepare technical reports and projects, and to ensure workplace and personnel safety at the operating desk.

Employment Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the Electronic Technology program are employed in small and medium-sized enterprises producing goods/services in the electronics and automation sector, industrial organizations, and the information technology, electronics, and automation sectors, in accordance with the competencies they have acquired.
