The "Social Innovation and Science Camp for Youth," organized by the Science and Social Thought Society—which operates within our university under the mentorship of Lecturer Dr. Samet İşbilen from the Vocational School of Health Services—was successfully held in Gaziantep.
Realized with the participation of students from various departments of our school, this camp aimed to enhance students' skills in scientific thinking, inquiry, analysis, and problem-solving. It sought to transform science from a purely theoretical field into an applied, experience-based learning process focused on social benefit.
Throughout the camp, students engaged in applied science activities that integrated various disciplines and conducted work centered on social innovation. During this process, they had the opportunity to learn firsthand how scientific knowledge is generated and evaluated, and how it can be applied to create solutions for societal issues. Skills such as teamwork, entrepreneurship, and a sense of responsibility were also fostered.
In this respect, the camp provided a significant learning environment that strengthened not only the students' academic development but also their capacity for multifaceted thinking, social awareness, and productivity. This approach, which bridges scientific knowledge with social responsibility, established a complementary educational model that enriches the professional competencies of our vocational school students.
We congratulate our academic advisor, Lecturer Dr. Samet İşbilen, for the academic guidance, dedicated contributions, and educational approach he demonstrated in bringing this valuable initiative to fruition. We also congratulate all the students who actively participated in the process and successfully completed this scientific and social learning experience, commending them for their interest, effort, and productivity. We believe that such scientific and educational activities make significant contributions to the academic and professional development of our students, and we hope to see similar initiatives continue and increase.
