Prof. Dr. Caner Kaya Özer, faculty member of the Department of Geological Engineering, is serving as a researcher on two research projects supported by the TÜBİTAK 3501 Career Development Program. The first project examines Eocene-Oligocene transition deposits of the Kırkgeçit Formation in Elazığ, while the second investigates the Cretaceous/Paleogene transition in stratigraphic sequences in Southeastern Anatolia, from paleontological and stratigraphic perspectives. The projects are carried out in collaboration with Fırat University, Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Gümüşhane University, and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO).
