Mission

The mission of the English Language Teaching Programme is to educate English language teachers who are knowledgeable in the field of English language teaching, well equipped with contemporary language teaching approaches, methods, and techniques, and committed to scientific inquiry, the principles and reforms of Atatürk, and modern educational values. The Programme aims to prepare prospective teachers who have a high level of English proficiency, are aware of contemporary teaching methods, can follow current developments in the field, think critically, and demonstrate strong intercultural awareness.

Vision

The vision of the English Language Teaching Programme is to educate teachers who can integrate subject knowledge, professional teaching knowledge, and general cultural knowledge; continuously develop themselves; effectively manage dynamic teaching and learning processes; possess both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in teaching English as a foreign language; and demonstrate research competence, multidimensional thinking, self-confidence, and strong self-efficacy. The Programme also aims to attain a distinguished position among English Language Teaching programmes in Türkiye.
