General Information
Our program commenced its educational activities in the 1991–1992 academic year and continues to provide education with a quota of 40 full-time students. Our school has three laboratories, including one computer laboratory, as well as two classrooms available for our students.
There are three faculty members/instructors working in our program. SCADA, PLC, and AutoCAD software are used in the educational and practical activities of the program.

Purpose
The Electrical Program is a four-semester program that provides education and training with the aim of educating qualified technicians in the fields of electricity generation, control, transmission, and distribution; the use of electricity for heating, lighting, and power supply; the production, testing, and measurement of electrical equipment; the safe installation of electrical systems in buildings; and the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical devices and equipment.
Graduates of the program work as qualified personnel with the title of Electrical Technician in a wide range of fields. They take part in the installation of various electrical facilities, the continuous operation and maintenance of industrial systems, and the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical devices and equipment. They also work in factories and industrial facilities, contributing to the continuity of production as well as electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.
The Electrical Program aims to train qualified professionals who can meet the needs of the electrical industry and adapt to technological developments and changing sectoral demands.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Electrical Program can pursue careers in a wide range of sectors. They may work:
- In public-sector institutions,
- In private-sector organizations,
- As independent professionals,
- At Türkiye Electricity Distribution Corporation (TEDAŞ),
- At the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT),
- At the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ),
- At the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE),
- At institutions such as the General Directorate of Rural Services,
- At the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and other government ministries and public institutions.
Today, electricity is an essential part of almost every sector and area of modern life. Therefore, graduates of the Electrical Program have employment opportunities in a wide range of fields involving electrical systems, energy production, transmission, distribution, installation, maintenance, and operation.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the program can work in both public and private organizations, as well as pursue independent professional careers. They may find employment in institutions such as Türkiye Electricity Distribution Corporation (TEDAŞ), the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE), and the General Directorate of Rural Services. They may also work in various ministries and public institutions, particularly the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.Today, there is virtually no field in which electricity is not used. As industrialization continues to expand, the use of electricity is becoming increasingly widespread. Consequently, the demand for qualified electrical technicians continues to grow across a wide range of sectors.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs Available Through Vertical Transfer
Graduates who successfully complete the Associate Degree Program in Electrical Engineering under the Department of Electricity and Energy may continue their education in the following four-year undergraduate programs, provided that they obtain the required score in the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) administered annually by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM):
