BANKING AND INSURANCE PROGRAM
Banks and insurance companies are the most important financial institutions of modern free-market economies. Besides offering numerous services in their respective fields, these institutions also have a social function by providing the financing that firms need. The program consists of two separate areas: Banking and Insurance. Banks are primarily institutions that collect deposits and provide loans. Depending on their function, banks are also divided into different types, such as commercial, investment, and development banks. International banking plays a very important role in the globalization process. A banker is a professional who possesses knowledge and expertise in these operations.
Insurance companies provide insurance to their customers in many different areas. In our daily lives, there are numerous types of insurance such as health, life, traffic, earthquake, agriculture, natural disaster, accident, etc. Insurance companies also have international dimensions because they operate within a hierarchical structure at an international level through reinsurance practices. An insurer is a professional who possesses knowledge and expertise in all insurance transactions and services.
The curriculum includes common courses necessary for both banking and insurance.
The Importance and Future of the Profession: Banks and insurance companies are gaining increasingly more functions and importance. This will further increase in Turkey due to economic development, and the need for qualified professionals and experts in the sector will grow even more.
Program Objective: The aim of this program is to train expert professionals with practical skills in the fields of banking and insurance. Our approach is to enable graduates to adapt to working life even without prior work experience. Therefore, the program offers content that supports practical application. The Banking and Insurance Program, with its carefully defined course and practical programs, also aims to prepare students for exams administered by the Capital Markets Board (SPK), banks, and insurance companies.
