Our School, established by the Council of Ministers Decision published in the Official Gazette dated February 26, 2010, and numbered 27505, was transformed into the Faculty of Sport Sciences with the Presidential Decree dated 15/06/2020 and numbered 2654. Our Faculty continues its educational activities with the aim of training Physical Education and Sports Teachers for primary and secondary schools, as well as Coaches in various branches and administrators for various levels of units affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Department of Physical Education and Sport Teaching aims to equip prospective teachers with the personal characteristics, competencies, and qualifications required by the curriculum, and to develop their ability to produce solutions to problems they may encounter in their professional lives. Through elective courses, students are guided toward areas of interest and encouraged to develop themselves, while general culture courses aim to make them cultured and intellectual individuals.
Our Faculty began its educational activities in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Teaching for the first time in the 2016–2017 academic year, admitting 61 students.
The curriculum of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Teaching consists of compulsory courses along with elective courses in general culture, field knowledge, and professional knowledge.
