Our department was established in 2009 under the name "Foreign Languages" and was renamed the Department of Western Languages and Literatures in 2021, comprising the English Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, and German Language and Literature programs.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the English Language and Literature Undergraduate Program was launched and admitted its first students. The Spanish Language and Literature and German Language and Literature programs are currently in the establishment phase.

Educational and research activities in our department are carried out by one professor doctor, one associate professor, three assistant professors, and three research assistants, one of whom holds a doctorate degree.

In line with the requirements of the 21st century, our department emphasizes the importance of languages such as English, Spanish, and German, which have a significant impact across vast regions, with an awareness of the indispensability of intercultural communication. We aim to promote these languages not only as tools of communication but also as carriers of cultural heritage. The implementation of these programs within Yozgat Bozok University holds great value, as it aims to translate their literary and historical richness into Turkish and to cultivate individuals proficient in these languages.
