Animal Science is a branch of science concerned with the breeding, reproduction, care, feeding, and improvement of domestic animals for the economic production of animals and animal products.
The main objectives of the department are to train animal scientists/agricultural engineers who will serve in the field of animal husbandry, to train scientists, and to contribute to animal science at regional, national, and international levels by planning and conducting R&D activities. In this context, it provides undergraduate and graduate education, plans and conducts research in the field, and provides information support to private and public institutions and organizations.
The mission of the Animal Science Department is to implement contemporary and high-quality education and training programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels to train creative, entrepreneurial, and well-equipped animal scientists, to contribute to science by conducting effective research and development studies, and to produce knowledge-based products and services needed by the animal husbandry sector.
Its mission is to lead production activities that will increase the level and quality of production in various animal husbandry areas in order to bring the consumption levels of animal products in our country to the level of developed countries.
