The Science Cafe meetings, organized to make information more accessible, to spread a culture of scientific discussion, and to provide students with new perspectives, continue to attract great interest. The topics covered in these events range from health sciences to engineering, social sciences to current technologies, and agriculture to economics.
Our university's Faculty of Agriculture organized a Science Cafe event titled "The Competence of the Animal Science Department and its Importance for Animal Husbandry in Yozgat" to contribute to the development of regional animal husbandry and to draw attention to the scientific importance of the animal husbandry field.
The event, held at the Bozok Science Communication Office, was attended by our university's Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Güngör Yılmaz, Yozgat Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Ömer Şentürk, our university's Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Yakupoğlu, representatives of civil society organizations, sector stakeholders, academics, and students.
The event, moderated by our university's Faculty of Agriculture faculty member Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Akif Boz, included... The meeting addressed the region's livestock potential, the current production structure, areas where animal science can be utilized, increasing productivity in animal production, the application of modern breeding techniques, the role of animal science knowledge in regional development, and the importance of public-university cooperation.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and a mutual exchange of views on the future of livestock farming in Yozgat.
