About the Program

The Forestry and Forest Products Program, under the Department of Forestry, offers two years of education after high school education. Students are selected through the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Around 40 students are placed in the program every year. Courses are divided into two groups: compulsory and elective. Every student must take compulsory courses, but among the elective courses, students can choose the course they want according to their own desires.

In addition to courses, each student must complete a practical internship covering at least 20 working days.

Purpose

The purpose of the Forestry and Forest Products Program is; To train "Forest Technicians" in order to meet the need for professional technical personnel in the forestry sector, who love nature, protect it, are curious and open to development, can produce solutions to problems, have the ability to think differently, are strong in public relations, are aware of Ataturk's principles and reforms, are loyal to Ataturk's nationalism, aim to serve their country, nation and humanity, keeping their national culture and values ​​alive.

Diploma and Title Earned by Graduates

Students who graduate from the Forestry and Forest Products Program by taking theoretical and practical courses are given an associate degree and those who have this diploma can work as technicians.

Facilities Offered

The laboratories and herbarium in our school are used for our applied courses. Apart from this, we go to our school garden and the surrounding forests for field work. Foreign language, computer and other courses are organized at Boğazlıyan Vocational School. Our school also provides library, computer area, dining hall and canteen services.

Undergraduate Programs for Vertical Transfer

Those who successfully complete the Forestry Department, Forestry and Forest Products associate degree program can continue to the 4-year undergraduate departments mentioned below if they get sufficient points in the Vertical Transfer Exam held every year by the Student Selection and Placement Center:

Woodworking Industrial Engineering

Additionally, students who graduate from this program can make vertical transfer to the following Anadolu University open education undergraduate programs by taking difference courses.

Requirements for Graduating from the Program

In order to graduate from the Forestry and Forest Products Program, it is necessary to meet the following conditions:

To succeed in all courses in the course plan with a total of 120 ECTS credits.

Having a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

20 working days (4 ECTS credits) to complete the internship.

Each student must register for courses at the beginning of the semester and attend at least 70% of the courses and 80% of the practices in order to take the final exam. Students are subject to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exams, quiz, etc. can also be evaluated as midterm exam grade) to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. In order to graduate, the student must complete a course load of 120 ECTS and have a GPA of at least 2.0.
