Prof. Dr. Evren YAŞAR
He was born in 1975 in Bozkır-Konya. He completed his primary and secondary education in Seydişehir-Konya and high school education in Istanbul Kuleli Military High School. In 1999, he graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy as a Medical Lieutenant. Between 1999-2002, he served as the chief physician of the headquarters at the Border Battalion in Uzunköprü, Edirne.
He received the titles of Physiatrist in 2005, Assistant Professor in 2008 and Associate Professor in 2011 from Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Then he became a professor in 2017 at PM&R Department of Gülhane Faculty of Medicine, University of Health Sciences (UHS).
Yaşar, who continued his academic and clinical studies at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, TAF Rehabilitation Centre between 2005-2016, worked as a researcher in Pediatric Rehabilitation and Pain Treatment at Colorado University Faculty of Medicine in the United States of America between 2010-2011, and as the Chief of Diagnostic Treatment Department at TAF Rehabilitation Centre between 2012-2016.
Between 2016-2019, he continued his studies at University of Health Sciences, Gülhane Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Gaziler Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Training and Research Hospital. He has clinical experience in different fields, especially adult-pediatric brain injury and rehabilitation, musculoskeletal pain. He has many studies and citations published in leading national-international journals in his field.
He completed international trainings on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation at Harvard University. In addition to the national FTR qualification certificate, he also has a European FTR Qualification Trainer Certificate.
In March 2019, he was assigned to carry out the establishment works of Ankara Bilkent City Hospital Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital. In this process, he was in charge of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic Education and Administrative Responsibility. On 6 March 2020, he was appointed as the Founding Chief Physician of Ankara Bilkent City Hospital Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital with 300 beds (200 adult, 50 pediatric neurological rehabilitation) affiliated to Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, which is the largest and most modern hospital of our country. Between March 2020 and August 2023, he worked towards achieving the hospital's goal of being among the world examples as a center of excellence in all subjects in the field of PM&R. During his tenure as chief physician, he ensured that the hospital received the European PM&R Training Centre Competence Certificate and TÜSKA International Accreditation Certification.
He was appointed as the Rector of our University by Presidential Decree No. 32266 dated 01.08.2023.
He speaks English fluently. He is married and has one child.
